2.6 million views of 2108 MacBook Air Keyboard Failure on Unbox Therapy
Feb 8, 2019 —
Dear MacBook Users,
Have you watched this video yet?
2.6 million views of Unbox Therapy demonstrating the Butterfly Keyboard failing in a 2018 MacBook Air, which was released only a few months ago.
Knowing full well that these butterfly keyboards are defective and prone to failure, Apple continues to sell them, with no upfront warning to consumers.
None of the 2018 models are yet listed on the keyboard service program here:
I guarantee you Apple will add all 2018 models soon.
And also, this "repair program" continues to be pointless given that Apple will replace your defective keyboard with another keyboard that will inevitably fail again, as many customers have indicated in their comments on this petition.
When will Apple finally discontinue making the Butterfly Keyboards and go back to the reliable Scissor Switch Keyboards for future MacBooks?
And, when will Apple provide a full refund to those of us who purchased these defective machines?
Perhaps, at this point, only the class action lawsuits could perhaps compel Apple to do the right thing. It seems that no one at Apple cares anymore about the Mac customer's experience.
More updates as I hear them...
