Here's a must-read story by Joanna Stern on the ongoing MacBook keyboard fiasco:
Appl Still Hasn’t Fixd Its MacBook Kyboad Problm

In the story, Apple offers this apology:
“We are aware that a small number of users are having issues with their third-generation butterfly keyboard and for that we are sorry,” an Apple spokesman told Stern in a statement. “The vast majority of Mac notebook customers are having a positive experience with the new keyboard.”
It's behind a paywall, here's an excerpt from Joanna's story, written on her defective MacBook Air keyboard...
I appciat Appl’s apology, but until th company says goodby to th buttfly onc and fo all, it’s impotant to undstand why it baks, and whatyou might b abl to do about it.
Sorry, Apple, this isn't enough. You owe an apology to everyone who purchased the first- and second-generation butterfly keyboard-equipped MacBooks, as well. Plus, to make this right, you need to offer a full refund for all of these machines, or at the least, replacement MacBooks with reliable, Scissor Switch keyboards, as previously called for in this petition. Finally: It's obvious to everyone that this affects more than "a small number of users."

"I consider these keyboards the worst products in Apple history. MacBooks should have the best keyboards in the industry; instead they’re the worst. They’re doing lasting harm to the reputation of the MacBook brand."
