880 signatures, 12” MacBook keyboard problems, & press coverage!
May 3, 2018 — Hi MacBook Pro users,
We have 880 signatures in less than 24 hours! Keep it going. Please tweet, post, and share this petition everywhere.
Regarding the 12” MacBook (a.k.a. MacBook Adorable), I didn’t ask for it to be recalled in this petition because I don’t own one. However, given that it has essentially the same, flawed butterfly keyboard design as the MacBook Pro, and given that many people have commented on the same keyboard problems in numerous online forums, common sense indicates Apple should recall the 12” MacBook and replace its keyboard, too.
If you are an owner of a 12” MacBook, please leave a comment on the petition stating “12” MacBook” or “MacBook Adorable” so Apple representatives, if and when they read the petition, will be able to hear and address your concerns too.
Thanks to Cult of Mac, Ubergizmo, VentureBeat, and iDropNews for covering this petition.
For the record, Apple should not view the number of signatures on this petition as determinative to the size and scale of this problem. 99.99% of people who own a MacBook Pro w/a defective keyboard don’t know this petition exists. In a theoretical word in which 100% of people experiencing keyboard problems saw the existence of this petition, we would end up with tens of thousands of signatures at the least, perhaps one or more orders of magnitude more than that. Apple should view the number of petition signatures as a representative, vocal sampling of a massive group of unhappy customers.
That said, the more we drive awareness of this petition, the more likely Apple is to listen, so please spread the word and pressure other media outlets to cover this petition!
