Apple's latest iPhone7 ad depicts thousands of balloons hovering over a city. This will only encourage people to participate in balloon releases because they are thought to be "beautiful". In actual fact, balloon releases result in the deaths of countless wildlife who mistakenly eat the balloons or become tangled in the masses of ribbon and rubber. In addition to this, the helium wasted in balloons is in limited supply on earth, and what we have needs to be preserved for life-saving medical imaging.
