Appeal to stop the deportation of Tekleab Haile
The Issue
My name is Rahwa Tesfameskel Berhe, and I am writing this petition as an urgent, desperate plea to both the Canadian correctional authorities and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada on behalf of my family. I am a mother residing in Edmonton, Alberta, and my husband, Tekleab Kifle Haile, is currently incarcerated and facing an immigration hearing on October 22nd that could result in his deportation. This looming decision threatens to permanently break apart our family and leave our five young children in an unimaginable predicament.
Tekleab's deportation would not only devastate our children emotionally but also place an insurmountable financial and physical burden upon me, as I strive to raise our children alone. Our children, all under the age of five, require both parents for a nurturing, stable upbringing in these crucial years of their development. Tekleab has been an integral part of our family life, providing emotional support, care, and affection to our children.
Moreover, Tekleab has established deep roots within the Edmonton community, contributing positively through volunteer work and active participation in community events. His deportation would be a loss, not only to our family but also to the communities that have embraced and supported us.
Considering these circumstances, I plead with the Canadian Immigration authorities to allow Tekleab to remain in Canada. My husband's absence would impose severe hardship on our family's wellbeing. We are determined to work within the legal framework, respect Canadian laws, and explore every option to keep our family whole.
I urge everyone who reads this to empathize with our plight and support us in our appeal to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. Your signature could make a significant difference in our lives, providing our children with the love and support of both parents. Please sign this petition to stop my husband, Tekleab Kifle Haile, from being deported, keeping our family together and strong in our community.
