Appeal to Revise Royal Mail Collection Office Opening Hours in London

The decision to restrict opening hours to just two hours a day, in some cases from 08:00-10:00, is impractical and does not take into account the needs of many customers who have work, childcare, caregiving, or other commitments during these times.

Royal Mail is a service-based business catering to both residential and commercial customers. These limited hours make it exceedingly difficult for many of us to collect our mail, creating unnecessary stress and inconvenience. The alternative arrangements proposed do not provide a viable solution, as they add further strain to our already busy daily routines.

Furthermore, this decision impacts not only the customers but also the dedicated staff at the collection offices. They bear the brunt of the frustration and complaints from disgruntled customers, which is unfair and affects their morale.

We believe that these opening hours were set with the convenience of Royal Mail in mind rather than its customers. We urge Royal Mail to reconsider this policy and extend the opening hours to better accommodate the needs of the community.

**We propose the following changes:**

1. Extend the collection office opening hours to at least 08:00-12:00 and 16:00-18:00 on weekdays.
2. Ensure at least one weekend day with extended hours to accommodate those unable to visit during the week.

We strongly urge Royal Mail to rethink this policy and make the necessary adjustments to serve the community better and support their hardworking staff.
