As residents of Montclair(especially those of us on the south end living in multi family houses) my neighbors and I share a common issue – the parking rule that has us paying $5 each day just to park in front of our homes. We have been subject to receiving $35 tickets whenever we forget to renew our DAILY passes. The system doesn’t offer any monthly or annual passes, adding an unnecessary burden on our daily lives. Not to mention, the annual cost of these parking passes amounts to a whopping $1825! The overnight parking rules in our community are not only inconvenient but also excessively expensive. 

In addition to the financial strain, the current system also disregards the value of time and adds undue stress; as if the demands of life are not enough, every day another task is thrust upon us.

Our appeal to the Montclair local government is to revise the existing overnight parking rules. We, the residents, deserve the right to park in front of our homes without any unnecessary hurdles or exorbitant fees. It is essential that our local government takes this into serious consideration to alleviate these unnecessary burdens on its citizens.
