I am a resident of Driftwood Drive, Suisun City, CA, and my life along with many others has been significantly affected by the recent Planning Commission’s decision regarding the Almond Gardens project.

Our requests for reasonable changes to the plan were not adequately addressed, and we believe that the process was not conducted in a transparent and fair manner.

My wife and I have always cherished our privacy and love spending time in our backyard. However, this new development poses major privacy issues with visibility into our backyards - an issue that is supposed to be mitigated by city development codes requiring reasonable accommodations for privacy concerns.

Moreover, there are no considerations for residents who are facing eviction without any prospect of benefiting from this new development due to income qualification criteria. This is particularly concerning as it seems there's no plan for current residents who can't qualify for housing forward.

We call on city officials to revise their plans to ensure they meet all necessary requirements including those related to privacy protection and fair housing opportunities.
