Subject: Urgent Demand for Resolution of Chronic Failure of APJAKTU’s Digital Infrastructure

Respected Sir/Madam,

We, the undersigned students of A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University (APJAKTU) and its affiliated colleges, are writing to demand immediate and decisive action to resolve the chronic failure of the university's official websites and associated online services.

For far too long, the student community has been subjected to immense and avoidable stress due to an IT infrastructure that is simply not fit for purpose. These are not isolated incidents but a recurring crisis that unfolds like clockwork during the most critical times of our academic year. The main announcements are made on ktu.edu.in, while all critical student-centric activities are handled through the app.ktu.edu.in portal, which repeatedly fails us.

Specifically, we face two major recurring failures:

Website Crashes During Result Announcements: Every single time our semester results are published on app.ktu.edu.in, the portal crashes under the weight of student traffic. We are left waiting for hours, sometimes even days, constantly refreshing our browsers in a state of anxiety. This delay is not merely an inconvenience; it directly impacts our ability to apply for scholarships, higher education, and employment opportunities that have strict, non-negotiable deadlines.

Payment Gateway Failures: When the university instructs thousands of students to make mandatory payments for examinations or other fees through the portal, the payment gateway consistently fails. This forces us into a state of panic, fearing that we will miss deadlines and face penalties for a technical failure that is entirely the university's responsibility.

These recurring technical disasters are unacceptable for a university of APJAKTU's stature. Such failures are in direct violation of the UGC's mandate for the timely dissemination of results and demonstrate an inadequate IT infrastructure under the NAAC quality framework. We pay our fees and fulfil our academic obligations; we have a right to expect basic administrative competence in return.

We, therefore, demand that the APJAKTU administration and the concerned higher authorities take the following actions with utmost urgency:

Conduct an Immediate and Transparent Audit: Perform a full technical audit of the university's IT infrastructure, servers, and web services to publicly identify the root causes of these failures.

Invest in a Permanent Upgrade: Allocate the necessary resources to upgrade the university's servers and website architecture to ensure they can handle high-traffic volumes reliably and efficiently.

Ensure System Scalability: Implement a modern, scalable system that guarantees smooth and uninterrupted access for all students during peak periods like result declarations and fee payment windows.
We are proud to be students of this university, but we are being consistently let down by its crumbling digital infrastructure. It is time for APJAKTU to invest in its students by providing the reliable digital services we deserve.

We trust you will address this matter with the seriousness it warrants and provide us with a stable and functional online environment.

Sincerely,

The Students of A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University
