On May 21, 2000, according to attorney Mrs. Debra Hampton, Jerry Conard was arrested without probable cause or an arrest warrant by Muskogee Police Officers as a necessary witness. Whereas, he was unlawfully detained, questioned, and then held hostage in jail until criminal charges were brought against him. However, Mrs. Hampton argued this violation of law was swept under the rug and never presented to Muskogee district court. Why wasn't this violation of Jerry's constitutional rights challenged by court appointed counsel? Unfortunately for young black men like Jerry as research has revealed they are taken advantage of by our system because many young black men do not understand the complexities of the law and cannot match the overzealous prosecutor Without adequate assistance of counsel, it is self evident that Jerry did not receive effective assistance from counsel Terry Weber during his trial or the outcome would have been much like alleged co-defendant Jamal Wilson who was acquitted after being accused of killing Patrick Brown.

So many unconstitutional errors occurred on behalf of our trusted elect officials to gain this unjust conviction against Jerry Conard JR that you can only imagine the many people who played a part by turning a blind eye to this blatant police corruption and prosecutorial misconduct in this case. Martin Luther king once said, "An injustice done anywhere effects justice everywhere." This has definitely effected Jerry and his entire family and friends so please continue to pray that justice is granted!!
