Many people are suffering the ongoing and life changing effects of post viral disease. We are an ever increasing demographic, and with another wave of Covid infection surging, we are continuously at risk of re-infection. The public health measures are not adequate for people who are immuno-compromised or chronically ill, leaving many with a degraded quality of life and less able or unable to participate in society. While vaccinations decrease the risk of serious disease and death, they do not protect against Long Covid, which can develop from even mild infections. 
Long Covid sufferers have no treatment options, and are mostly ‘symptom managed’ by their GPs, or left to self manage, often becoming desperate due to lack of support. Many lose jobs or are too sick to return to work, again experiencing a lack of support. The impact of Long Covid on many people’s lives is immense and has been described as a ‘mass disabling event’. We are beyond frustrated at the continued dismissal and silent treatment from governments, policy makers and decision makers. 

We request that we have access to the only treatment available and recognised by the TGA specifically for Covid, Anti-virals Paxlovid and Lageviro. We request that we are classed in the vulnerable groups that are already recognised to receive access to antivirals.
