AVC: Move to Online Lectures and In-Person Labs

AVC: Move to Online Lectures and In-Person Labs
Why this petition matters

Over the past year students and employees at Antelope Valley college have been going through the trials of fully online, zoom, and back to in person schooling. Now more than ever everyone on campus is in danger, Covid-19 seems to be ever changing and policies in place at AVC do not seem to be held in settings such as the classroom therefore putting many people at risk.
Just to name a few policies that I have witnessed not be held are the mask mandate, the 6 feet distancing, the seating charts in classrooms in case of someone falling ill, sanitization, etc.
this petitions main purpose is to keep all students workers and professors safe in these odd times.
To keep the students best learning outcomes and retention rates in mind lectures should be either fully online or through zoom meetings. There is no need to meet in person for information that can be shared over canvas.
The second part of the solution is to continue labs in person on campus as to not hinder learning goals as we saw happen with many students when we were fully online via zoom in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.
Furthermore most schools in the state of California have gone back to online school for the time being for the safety of student and employees, AVC needs to follow suit and keep the best wishes of the people in mind.
