I live in the College Woods housing community, which is situated right at the city line of Saraland, Alabama. Like many of my neighbors, I find Saraland to be the community that truly serves our needs. It is where we shop, where our children go to school, and where we engage in various community activities. However, College Woods is technically part of Prichard, Alabama, a designation that does not reflect our daily lives, nor does it serve our best interests.

The only municipal service we currently receive from Prichard is garbage collection, which is inconsistent and frequently delayed, leaving our community frustrated and underserved. This situation only adds to the growing dissatisfaction with the governance of Prichard, a city recently plagued with well-publicized corruption.

By annexing College Woods into Saraland, we can enjoy the benefits of a well-organized city infrastructure. Not only would we receive consistent garbage collection and other services, but we will also have a community identity that accurately reflects where we live, work, and spend our time.

Saraland's commitment to its citizens is evident in its efficient services, strong educational system, and thriving business environment. It's a city that truly prioritizes its residents' well-being—something that we feel we’re missing out on due to our current association with Prichard.

Our community’s realignment with Saraland would offer us improved safety, stronger schools, better-managed utilities, and a governance structure that can substantially elevate our quality of life. We are committed to making this change for the betterment of all residents of College Woods.

Just a suggestion but this is what I would add to the petition:        

Since water in College Woods is provided by MAWSS, all homes maintain their own septic systems, Mobile County is funding significant road improvements, Mobile County is now providing public safety services in the area due to absolute corruption in the police department, and many families are unable to benefit from the local public school system such as Indian Springs because they were graded a D forcing residents to transfer or use private school, then residents are left asking: Where are our City of Prichard tax dollars being spent, and what direct benefits are they receiving in return?

* Water Service: Water and sewer service is provided by MAWSS (Mobile Area Water & Sewer System) rather than the City of Prichard.
* Septic Systems: Many homeowners in College Woods maintain private septic systems, meaning they are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair costs rather than relying on a city sewer connection.
* Road Improvements: Residents have noted that Mobile County has funded and completed major road improvements in the area, raising questions about how much roadway investment is coming directly from the City of Prichard.
* Law Enforcement: law enforcement services are primarily being provided by the Mobile County Sheriff's Office rather than the Prichard Police Department. 
* Public Schools: The local public school system has experienced years of low academic performance and enrollment challenges, leading many families to seek private, magnet, or other educational options.
* Neighborhood Investment: Residents question whether they are receiving an appropriate level of city services, infrastructure improvements, economic development, and neighborhood reinvestment in return for the municipal taxes they pay.
