There's a lovely, traditional phone box in Streetly village.  One of those big, red, iconic ones that are a fantastic emblem of Britain.  

Sadly, it's due to be taken away, so we have to come together as a community to save it.  Local resident Anne-Marie is leading the charge and in talks with Staffordshire council to transfer it from BT to council maintained property. 

This window to the past can be a community space for the future, with a bit of imagination and creativity.  Phone boxes throughout the country have been redesigned as mini libraries and notice boards for community activity.  

Whatever the use, the priority now is keeping it, because once it's gone, it's gone.

It will cost the council just £1 to adopt, after which volunteers from the area would be able to care for it and maintain it as a local treasure.
