Tell the fashion industry: Massachusetts does not support using real fur for keychains

The Issue

Although many consumers still continue to choose real fur over faux fur, citing its advantages over synthetics, there is no reason why a real fur option should be given for key chains or other items that are meant to be simple adornments. Many high-end retailers produce such ornaments and the public is presented with them in stores throughout Massachusetts. This causes the unnecessary suffering and killing of fur-bearing animals, and for nothing more than a bauble that will be discarded within 6 months. It is proposed that any "non-utility" fur item be banned from sale in Massachusetts. There may still be arguments for fur-lined coats and leather boots, but a fox tail pom pom is indefensible.
