AS CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES, and/or residents of Anne Arundel County, Maryland. We The People; thus, formerly petition Anne Arundel County Council, to include Maryland Delegates for the County, Sheriff, and Congressional representatives to declare their support for the United States and Maryland Constitutions; and for the County Council to issue forthwith, in the County of Anne Arundel, Maryland; a resolution in support of the same, and to declare the Bill of Rights, and the United States Constitution as the supreme governing law of the land, which by all people are governed, without regard to race, sex, identity, position, and religious beliefs; and that it is the right of the people to keep and bear arms, to be secure in their persons, to peaceably assemble, to engage in commerce and to be free from excessive taxes and abuses, by those elected or employed by the people, in the execution of their duties; and to publicly issue your support as a body and as individuals in the form of a resolution and articles; that you will remain true and faithful to the same; and that you will not support legislation or any other actions that further infringes upon the rights of the people and that you will strictly adhere to the restraints of the United States and Maryland Constitutions in the execution of all your official duties as elected representatives, appointed by the people.  

Over the years, there have been increasingly alarming bills introduced, rules and regulations, as well as unconstitutional actions signed into law that is defective and repugnant. These infringe on the rights of the people to keep and bear arms, to be secure in their person and property, and to engage in lawful commerce that is otherwise not prohibited by federal law. Such gun control laws and regulations are based on statistical data for firearm usage and are not evidence-based methods for reducing aggression, violence or suicide attempts by firearms; they effectively, however, deprive the civil rights of all U.S. citizens and residents; placing unique and undue hardships in the exercise thereof, especially among our minority population.

Your public support and opposition to such laws, regulations and legislative actions that infringe upon the rights of the people to keep and bear arms, to engage in lawful commerce, to be secure in their person, and to peaceably assemble will send a strong message to the people, federal and state legislators, that the rule of law remains sacred in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Your support to protect the Second Amendment as a civil right is imperative, whereby you acknowledge this right, and all the rights of the people; that they cannot be legislated away, forfeited, or taken. This is your sacred duty, your responsibility and burden to preserve this right and all the rights of the people as they are enumerated in the United States and Maryland Constitutions.
