Animal cruelty effects everyone, we see it and hear about it in the media and know that the person responsible is going to get a slap on the wrist. As human beings you have to feel compassion for the animals, hate for the perpetrators and sick that nothing is going to happen to that perpetrator. Harsher penalties need to be imposed to prevent animal cruelty and member of society stealing our pets for their own sick entertainment. The Staffordshire Bullterrier in the photo was stolen from his home and returned in this state. The current penalties are not enough to deter these people from continuing to do what they do. Animal cruelty needs to stop, it needs to stop now. Penalties need to fit the crime and the current penalties do not fit the crime. The judiciary need to enforce the laws to the full extent of the law. Please keep up the good work and get this petition to record levels. The government need to know that we are not going to allow animals to suffer any longer, stop the cruelty. Thank you
