My families' cat, Larry, went missing on June 3rd, 2017. After several days of searching and wondering, a neighbor admitted to both us and Ankeny police that he live trapped Larry and dumped him in the country "somewhere NW of Ankeny". He claims he cannot remember the exact location he dumped the cat.

June 25th, 2017 will be three weeks since Larry has been missing. We are still out looking for him, hanging up fliers, and asking the police to take action.

So far, the Ankeny police have not gone forward with charging the neighbor. Iowa statute 717B.8 (Abandonment of Cats and Dogs) states that a trapped dog or cat must be taken to a shelter if taken into custody. The neighbor admitted to the Ankeny police that he trapped and dumped Larry in the country. Why isn't he being charged as laid out in the statute?

We have spoken with three different officers that have not moved forward. We want this petition to show that animal lives matter and that there needs to be Justice for Larry!
