Last night, we proved that we have what it takes to win. We came out of last night's Board meeting with a victory. If the Board remains consistent with what they said last night, the policy will change. That being said, we are aware of the bureaucracy that exists within the administrative system that may prevent the policy from being changed.

This campaign has done all it can. The Board now has the petition and our data. Our statements last night truly emphasized on why we need this policy to change. This has been an incredible journey, folks. People from inside and outside the district have made this movement possible. We will continue to monitor district events with regard to this issue and will respond accordingly. This issue is in the hands of the Board now. While we acknowledge that changing the policy and fully implementing it will take time and resources, if the District does not act on this proposal, we believe that such negligence would be a direct contradiction to the will of the students, parents, and educators of Ankeny.

This campaign proved that local grassroots movements can make a difference. Never stop fighting for others. Thank you for supporting this movement. You made the difference.
