On June 23 2012, my daughter, Anitia Renee Law was violently shot  and murdered by a now ex- marine . Anitia was in Jacksonville, North Carolina visting her sister, who was also celebrating her birthday that week. Little did Anitia know it would be her last week on Earth. Anitia's killer had violently violated her on the previous night and her rights as an American citizen was outrageously  disregarded. She did not get the protection she so desperately needed. Nor was her parents contacted about the incident that happened the previous night . Anitia was only 15 years old,  She wanted to join the Air Force after high school. She was  an outstanding NJROTC member,  a great basketball player, very intelligent, very polite, an  avid church member , where she played the drums, she was an usher,  and a true missionary . she really did go out to visit the sick and pray for them. She was a warrior prayer. she was very  goal oriented. Anitia was very close to her siblings and me. She was so proud of us . She was especially proud to  have a nurse as her mother and a great stepfather who drove her to and from school daily and provided for her. She was extremely proud of her cousin Tanesha Tuft, who started this petition and who is a Staff Seargent in the Airforce.  All she talked about was her "Sweet 16" party, she was going to be 16 July 15, but because of this senseless act she will never live out her dreams, accomplish her goals, or see us again. Anitia was a blessing to  anybody and everybody that may have crossed her path. Please help her and our family by signing this petition to ensure that she receives the justice she deserves and to prevent this from happening to another child or adult. People should support my petition because this Law , Anitia's Law could save their lives, their children lives and their love ones life. Unfortunately, my daughter, Anitia Law's, life was taken from her when a now  ex-marine who swore to serve and protect the citizens of America, violently murdered my daughter.
