I'm from SC.  It is PATHETIC how animals are tossed like bags of trash not only here but all across the United States.  Im focusing on CONWAY. Here is our story.

My daughter and I rescued a dog who was pregnant along with her mate. The mate is now with Grand Strand Humane Society. They were abandoned. The male was intact and she was due any day.  I learned they were living in deplorable conditions since Dec. 23, 2023. Some overhead shelter, but the sides of the shack were open leaving them exposed to the elements. They endured rain, wind, cold (temperatures were as low as 17-20 many nights), coyotes, and fox. A lady was feeding them but couldn't bring them into her home.  Knowing she was pregnant, we couldn't let her stay outside. She and the Pups would have died!! We took her to our vet to see approximately when she may have these pups and how many she would have. We were told ANY DAY and they counted 11 spines. 

We put her in my garage with a heater going 24/7, we made a comfy bed in a plastic swimming pool.  Family, neighbors, friends sent money, food, blankets, puppy pads. Puppy formula, and bottles. A GO FUND ME PAGE was set up. A local non profit RESCUE TAILS came to our aid.  Our Dear beloved momma SCOUT(name since changed to Darcy)ended up having 13 puppies. Two were found out to be blind, one born with no eyes!  Unfortunately only 7 pups survived.  One was still born, 5 others died probably from not being able to suckle due to  OVERBREEDING and HUGE teats.  We were BOTTLE FEEDING every 3 hours.   I guess it was just not enough. We did our best. They said she was 10 years old. How PATHETIC is that????

Due to many medical issues with SCOUT...dehydration, malnourishment, parasitic, heart worm positive, anemic, therefore iron deficient, and MASTITIS.. an infection in her breasts. Her TEATS were filled with PUS, didn't produce COLOSTRUM  which is essential to the pups so they can develop immunities against parasites.  She didnt produce milk(probably why she was tossed).  The pups were taken from the mom by RESCUE TAILS because we JUST couldn't handle all those medical issues.  If only she were SPAYED!

My petition: Something MUST be done about the animal population here. Shelters are full, Rescues are full. Innocent animals are being EUTHANIZED DAILY. PLEASE sign to help me help these innocent animals. I will keep asking till the day I die or someone starts listening and holds people accountable.  Thanking you in advance.

* "SCOUTS LAW"       MANDATORY SPAY/ NEUTER unless you are a licensed breeder( must show proof).

*Included in this LAW  MANDATORY MICROCHIPPING so  IRRESPONSIBLE pet owners are held accountable for DISPOSING  their animals and to help relocate an animal if they are truly lost or stolen.

*Fines for not complying!

*Put a STOP to fighting rings where puppies and kittens are used as BAIT.

Dogs and Cats are needlessly being EUTHANIZED for no apparent reason other than over crowding. The ones that are there the longest go first.
