Justice for the elephants that were killed in Kerala

Justice for the elephants that were killed in Kerala
Why this petition matters
An elephant was brutally killed in Kerala. Locals gave her a fruit filled with fire crackers. She trusted them. And what she got in return of that trust was crackers exploding inside her mouth.
She ran along the streets in excruciating pain, carrying her unborn baby. She did not destroy any property nor did she harm a single human being. Even though humans had caused her this pain.
She went into a river to cool down and reduce the pain. But she died standing in that river. She died, and so did her baby.
Animals cannot stand up for themselves so it is our duty to stand up for them. People who do such inhumane acts deserve to be severely punished. Sadly, in India, these cruel people walk away with just a 100 rupees fine. And so many of these acts of animal cruelty go unnoticed.
Not anymore. Sign this petition and appeal directly to our Prime Minister to increase the maximum penalty for animal abuse cases under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. Stop animal abuse.
