Severe Punishment for cruelty against animals
The Issue
We have been seeing the cruelty against the animals over a long period.
But, now there has been a limit to all this as 50 community dogs were burned alive at Keezhamur village near Melmaruvathur, about 50km from Chennai, on June 5 just for the seek of revenge. The dogs were sedated with food laced with pesticides by the villagers staying there as they blamed dogs for attacking the herds of sheep and goat.
The incident came to light when a villager informed about the incident to animal activist, P Aswat who discovered it 4 days later and when the police were informed they took action against Four village locals namely Murali, Muthu, Murugadoss and Jeeva.
In their defence the villagers said dogs had bruised and injured the grazing sheep and goats and that some of them (cattle) died due to dog bites later. However, Aswath told Times of India(TOI) there were no traces of sheep and goat maimed or injured in a dog attack.
Thanks to TIMES OF INDIA and animal activist P Aswath the incident came to light.
Now as a Human Being for the sake of humanity it is our responsibility that the culprits of the incident should be punished severely as in the end it is a mass murder of the innocent animals.
I urge all of you to sign this petition to seek Justice to all those animals who were sacrificed for the sake of revenge.
