Jimmy, a very old and feeble dog is cruelly being thrown out of the only place he calls home. He sleeps under a cross in the porch of St. Peter's church, Bandra, Mumbai. He is being physically and mentally traulmatised and people have been hitting , kicking him and pouring phenol water on him and the place where he sits, in order to displace this gentle docile creature. When it was verified by the BMC that the 3 earlier complaints against him were false, the BMC would not impound him on the 4th complaint. In order to drive him out, water and phenol are now being thrown on him by the church authorities. An NC was lodged at Bandra Police Station and Notices sent u/s 149 of the CrPc on the insistence of investigating Animal Welfare Officers. Now, as ruse to get him out by hook or by crook, claims are being made that he is ill and that he should be taken away and put down. JIMMY IS OLD and feeble. He is not ILL. Do we drive our aged relatives out of their homes?? India is the country of "Ahimsa". It is our CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY to look after helpless animals. Animal lover and dog feeder, Sarina Lopez was assaulted while feeding Jimmy, by a mob incited by church authorities. Please sign the petition asking the Bandra Police Station to take action and ensure Jimmy is not displaced from the only home he knows since 12 years.
