You might be gone now but justice will come.

Here's a heart-wrenching story of a mobility dog, which the team from Chained Dog Awareness in Singapore (CDAS) tried to rescue, but was a step too late.

The sweet yet frail-looking Jack Russel Terrier has been allegedly abused by her owners - a pastor and his wife. The dog has been ruthlessly abused by his carers and left to struggle in eating its food that was left on the ground (instead of a bowl). Living in miserable conditions for the last 18 months, the poor dog often barks relentlessly in an attempt to call for help.

The CDAS team has reached out to the owner in a vain hope to rescue the dog, and a meeting was arranged. In spite of this agreement, the pastor went ahead to euthanize his dog on the very same day of the proposed meetup.

The religious leader later concluded, "We released her for deep sleep...healthy but too old…problem solved."

He put his own pet to sleep for his own convenience and dispensed himself from the possibility of being held accountable for animal cruelty.

The Bible says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice” (Proverbs 31:8-9 NLT).

Animal cruelty in modern Singapore is not acceptable, let alone coming from a religious leader. Let's speak out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all who are vulnerable.
