Sadly enough, there comes a time in your pet's life when they can no longer continue living with you due to old age or illness. They have shared some fun memories with you and you want them to experience even their last one to be nothing but pleasant. Many animals in shelters do not have the luxury sometimes to experience their last moments with an owner. However, that doesn't mean they shouldn't be granted a stress-free and humane way to experience their last moments. According to the American Veterinary Association, euthanasia through injection is the most humane use of euthanasia. However, many shelters are still utilizing chambers where euthanasia is expelled through a gas. The animals are being shut into chambers where they have to experience their final moments scared and alone. Some animals suffering from illnesses end up experiencing physical pain in their last moments due to the gasses. This is not a humane way to have an animal die. An animal should be able to leave this world in a pain-free, stress-free manner.
