Are plastic bags killing the environment?

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

We care because plastic is killing the environment. 1 trillion plastic bags are used worldwide annually. Billions of these plastic bags end up in the environment each year. In the environment these are killing animals that mistake them for food. This is happening worldwide. 10% of all of the plastic ends up in the ocean or waterways. That can kill many species living in bodies of water worldwide, and are polluting the environment.

If they end up in the landfill, they can still pollute the environment. It can take 1,000 years just for 1 bag to degrade. So imagine trillions of bags releasing toxins for 1,000s of years. That is a ton of pollution. In order to save us and nature, we must take action and get ride of the plastic.  Visit The Bag Banning Band to take action and save the environment.
