Oreo is suffering from an agonising skin condition and severe infection, yet his previous owners reportedly refused to get him the veterinary treatment he desperately needed. Instead of helping him, they left him outside, where he was found abandoned and yelping in pain.
When Oreo was rescued, much of his body was covered in raw, inflamed and infected skin. His face and paws were badly affected, causing severe pain and placing him at risk of dangerous complications. No dog should ever be denied medical care and left to suffer until their condition becomes this serious.
Oreo now needs urgent, ongoing veterinary treatment, but whoever allowed him to deteriorate to this point should not be permitted to walk away without consequences. Animal neglect can cause prolonged and unbearable suffering, and those responsible must be held fully accountable. We believe the person responsible for denying Oreo treatment and abandoning him while he was gravely ill should face the maximum sentence available if convicted.
