URGENT APPEAL: I'm running 13.1 miles to save dogs from the dog meat trade. Friend, will you make a gift right now to match that effort with the support that turns miles into rescues? CLICK HERE TO SPONSOR ME!

Friend,

I’m actually writing this part-way through a 10k training run.

I’ve stopped, caught my breath, and leaned against a wall for a moment because I wanted to say thank you properly.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been watching Jacob train for the HOKA Semi de Paris, and I know that so many of you have already sponsored him. I just want to say how grateful I am for that support. Seeing how many people have stepped up behind him, and behind Animal Welfare Investigations Project, has been incredibly moving.

Alongside Jacob, I’m also running the half marathon.

I’ll be honest with you: training has been hard. Some days my legs feel heavy from the first step. Some runs feel longer than they should. Today, for example, I’m out on a 10k practice run — and I’ve actually paused part-way through to write this, because I wanted to say thank you while it was fresh in my mind.

Friend, we're now just one week away. One week until race day. One week until everything we’ve trained for comes together.

When the training gets tough, I think about why we’re doing this. I think about the dogs still trapped in the dog meat trade in the Philippines and the fact that the end is finally within reach for them. If I can raise enough through this run, it won’t just be symbolic. It could fund an entire operation on the ground. Real investigators. Real action. Real dogs brought to safety.

That’s what keeps me moving when I want to stop.

I know many of you have already given to support Jacob, and I can’t thank you enough for that. If you’re able — and only if you’re able — I’d love to ask something personal too.

I’m putting my body through 13.1 miles for animals. If you’re able, Friend, would you make a gift today to match that effort with the support that turns miles into rescues?

Thank you for being part of this. Thank you for believing in this work. And thank you for helping bring the end of this cruelty closer.

I should get back to my run now, I have just a few kilometres left.

For all animals,

Patrick M.
Supporter
Animal Welfare Investigations Project

P.S. If you can’t sponsor me, Friend, I completely understand but I’d still genuinely love to hear from you. Any messages of encouragement would be gratefully received and will be carrying me through those miles.
