Friend,
A man from Alabama has pleaded guilty to federal charges related to dogfighting, admitting that he raised and sold pit bulls. During the raid on his property, authorities found 38 dogs in immense pain and distress. Many of these helpless creatures had to be euthanised due to the severity of their injuries. This heinous case of animal cruelty demands justice.
However, there is a disturbing twist to this story. As part of his plea agreement, prosecutors have agreed to recommend leniency at Penn's sentencing in September. This means that Penn may not receive the maximum sentence for his cruel and inhumane actions, a prospect that we find unacceptable.
These vulnerable and voiceless dogs were subjected to unspeakable cruelty, forced to fight for their lives in horrific conditions. The evidence seized at Penn's property, including modified treadmills, injectable veterinary medications, and chains, paints a chilling picture of systematic and deliberate exploitation of these animals for dog fighting.
We cannot, in good conscience, stand by and allow leniency in such a case. We need your help to ensure justice is served for these 38 abused animals and to advocate for stricter laws against animal cruelty.
Please sign our petition today, urging the prosecutor to push for the maximum sentence in this case. Your action could be pivotal in bringing about a significant change in the lives of countless animals and preventing such atrocities from recurring.
We deeply appreciate your support and are hopeful that, together, we can bring about justice and change.
For all animals,
Team AWIP
