"Stop Cutting Trees, to Prevent different kind of Calamities"

The Issue

Today the destruction of forests has increased along with population growth. People do not know that the trees are our life-givers. From trees, we get the life-giving air (oxygen). With trees and forests, we meet many of our needs.  At the same time, forests cause rains.  But due to population explosion, humans are indiscriminately harvesting forests for their needs. That is why the existence of forests today is in danger. Consequently, human life is also in danger.

According to an estimate, 11 million hectares of forest are harvested in the world per year. In India alone, one million hectare of forest is being cut down. The pressure of urbanization, the growing population and the craving for the rapid development have deprived us of green cover.

We want to solve the non-stop destruction of the forest which is the habitat of the animals in order them to stay alive and away from being endangered.

The people are within the community who are facing this kind of problem in which some animals are being migrated to other places and they are being wild because of the said destruction of their habitats.

Various Effects of Deforestation/Cutting of Trees

Floods and Droughts: Soil erosion increases the soil flows, due to which the specific cycle of flood and drought is started.

Loss of Soil Fertility: When the fuel becomes inadequate, the cow dung and the vegetable residue are used like fuels to make food. Because of this, every part of the plant is gradually used and nothing goes back in the soil. After some time the drift of this nutrition influences the productivity of the soil, it causes degradation of soil-fertility.

Air Pollution:There are grave consequences for forest destruction. Its biggest disadvantage is in the form of air pollution. The air where there is lack of trees gets polluted. And the problem of air pollution is the highest in the cities. There people suffer from many diseases, especially breathing problems such as asthma.

Extinction of species:Due to the destruction of forests, wildlife is disappearing. Many species have disappeared (such as Asiatic cheetah, Namdapha flying squirrel, Himalayan wolf, Elvira rat, Andaman shrew, Jenkins’ shrew, Nicobar shrew, etc) and many are on the verge of extinction.

Global Warming: Deforestation has a direct impact on the natural climate change, thereby increasing the global temperature. With the decreasing area of forests, the rain is also becoming irregular. This contributes to ‘global warming’, which has direct impact on humans.

TREE SAVING SOLUTION

Trees play a vital role in protecting our environment in several ways. Fewer forests mean that the sustainability of our planet earth is endangered. So far, there are actions and measures that are being undertaken to curtail deforestation, a move towards saving our natural environment and repairing the damage that has been caused for more than a century. The quickest solution would be to just stop the cutting down of trees. Nonetheless, a more workable solution is use of proper forest management strategies to ensure the environment is not disturbed.

The solution of this problem will be preserving and nurturing the forests in it's normal condition in order for the animals to stay in their places as they used to be.

As you would think, there are many possible solutions for solving this crisis. One of these is possibly the most obvious for reversing the effects. And that is reforestation. This is when you plant trees in any possible place to add green cover to the area. The most likely place that this would occur in would be the deforested areas; the rain-forests (Solution).

The next possible solution would be smart water management. Improper water management will cause two things. One would be that any given area will have too much water, damaging the habitat. The other is the exact opposite; an area will not have enough water to support the living things in that habitat. The smart management of water would eliminate that. It would stop areas from having too much, or too little, water; and distribute the right amount of water to any ecosystem (Solution).

Another great idea is to have special forest facilities. The facilities would have enough wood for all purposes combined. This will  allow the other parts of the forest to flourish, without worry of being cut down; while this facility controls the cutting down of trees. This also goes fantastic with the next idea, as the last idea would also protect animals and trees (Solution).

The addition of wild-life sanctuaries will be very important in the fight against the increasing rates of deforestation. These types of sanctuaries will provide to be very helpful, because of it’s protection of plant and animal. This can be combined with the controlled forest facilities, so that the forests are protected, as well as the animals, two times over. First you can eliminate the factor of logging, which protects the trees, and the animals that live in the forests. And now you add the sanctuaries for wild-life, which guarantees the protection of the trees and animals that live in their shelter. This, in combination with the facilities for logging, will be a great combo for the fight against deforestation (Solution).

Decreasing the usage of foreign beef is another solving factor. Just think; if the usage of foreign beef  stopped, land wouldn’t be cleared for more cattle ranches. That would stop loggers from causing more destruction to the world’s forests. And after that, the trees would be able to be undisturbed in its re-growing. Likewise, the halt of the timber trade would also stop logging. People wouldn’t need to cut down trees, and the trees could re-grow (Solution).

Then we have pollution. The air, water, and land pollution is becoming too much. If we can somehow advance out technology, we can reduce the amount of pollution; air, land, and water. The remaining trees, and if reforestation takes place, the new trees, can reduce the air pollution by absorbing the green house gases and releasing oxygen. The trees need CO2, and we need oxygen, so it works out. Then we can somehow create some new technology to incinerate the land waste. Without, obviously, creating too much pollution in return. Then we can use the ash from the waste to use for fuel (Solution).
