Aspin is also a DOG!

Most of the Filipinos who proclaimed themselves as "pet lovers" are mostly the ones who disgrace their dogs especially if the breed is “aspin”. They take of care of them when they are puppies but will eventually throw them out when they are grown up. They put chains on their necks, put them on the side of the streets or in a vacant place that does not have any protection from the hotness of the sun and heavy rains. Eating leftover foods that are usually rotten, abusing them not just physically but also emotionally by shouting and making loud sounds to shoo them away.

According to Republic Act No. 8485, It shall be unlawful for any person to torture any animal, to neglect to provide adequate care, sustenance or shelter, or maltreat any animal or to subject any dog or horse to dogfights or horsefights, kill or cause or procure to be tortured or deprived of adequate care, sustenance or shelter, or maltreat or use the same in research or experiments not expressly authorized by the Committee on Animal Welfare.

This scenario must stop because aspins are also dogs that can give you affection just like other dog breeds do. They are also loyal and the best partner for a real fur parent. Let's show them that abused dogs especially stray aspins should have a proper home and a fur parent that can love and accept them as who they are. Let's rescue them from the people who abused them and give punishments that they deserve. From sniffing out invasive and endangered species to detecting wildlife crime, dogs are using their incredible sense of smell to protect ecosystems all around the globe. Despite the struggles when taking care of a dog, sometimes they give us better love and comfort than any human being, so let’s love and protect them just like how we take care of ourselves.
