Dogs are being TORTURED and EATEN in China, Vietnam, Switzerland, and many other places around the world. Our goal is to use this petition to get the attention of the World Health Organization. Once we get their attention, we aim to convince them to put an international ban on the dog meat trade, ending MILLIONS of dogs being tortured and eaten every single year.

     One of the most popular examples of the dog meat trade is the annual Yulin Dog Festival in China, where 10,000 dogs are victims to first being tortured (including being skinned and boiled alive), and then bought and eaten. As bad as this sounds, this is a mere fraction of the dog meat trade that we are trying to put an end to. We are proud dog owners ourselves, and we are passionate about stopping this inhumane cruelty.

     Not only is this inhumane, but also proven to be unhealthy. In addition, dog meat is correlated with diseases like cholera and trichinellosis. Dog meat is also often illegally smuggled, leaving us to safely assume that dog meat is not often being approved by legitimate health departments. Who knows, we may even be in danger of a new deadly pandemic from the lack of safety that comes with the consumption of dog meat!
