My dog Lily was kidnapped on October 12, 2020. She is microchipped but that doesn't seem to do any good considering that every Veterinarian clinic I have contacted tells me that when they have a new patient come in, they DO NOT scan for microchips to see if the animal is with their actual owner or not. Not to mention the animal shelters seem to have some sort of deal going on with local 'rescues' where they intentionally don't scan small dogs for microchips so that the rescues can come pick them up and sell them for profit. Most of these so called 'rescues' don't even try to locate the animals owner before they put them on their website as adoptable! In my experience I have had during this tragic ordeal, there has only been but one animal rescue that has actually tried to help us find our dog. Every other so called rescue I have contacted about a dog in their possession tells me "This can't be your dog, ALL our dogs come from MEXICO." I am not exaggerating. Literally every animal rescue told me that all of their animals come from Mexico..except the one that actually helped us. This is not right! I believe either someone stole Lily to keep, or someone took her so they could sell her and make a profit off our misery. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECOGNIZED AND STOPPED SO IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
