Horse Racing Reform to Rescue Injured Horses
Horse Racing Reform to Rescue Injured Horses
This petition is to advocate Horse Racing Industry reform: Stop euthanizing the injured racing horses. Allow the injured horses to be rescued and rehabilitated to become pet or therapy horses. To euthanize an injured horse just because of a fractured leg is cruel and unwarranted. Therapy horses have been proven in healing conditions such as PTSD or similar situations.
The horse racing industry and racing horse’s owners should be organized to form a coalition facility in order to treat the injured horses and optimize their capabilities. It requires a network of expertise in order to establish a facility to rehabilitate injured horses and requires funding to accomplish such a facility. The horse racing industry and horse racing owners should be committed to adding the cost for the cause. There are many organizations that will also support the agenda to treat injured horses humanly and volunteers are also possible to help the rehabilitation. The adventures will be beneficial for all parties involved.
This change will provide long term benefits in a variety of opportunities not only improving practices in horse racing industry but also the communities associated with the horses and the general public. It’s morally transparent and educational in all aspects.
