VUČKO’S STORY
On 11 November 2011, two drunken teenagers in Ilidža, Bosnia-Herzegovina, put a rocket explosive firework into a young German Shepherd’s mouth and duct-taped his jaws shut, setting the rocket alight. The firework caused horrific injuries to the dog’s face, but did not kill him. He wandered about for five days before being finally rescued by Av-Mau volunteers who took him to a veterinarian’s office. The firework shell was still embedded in the dog’s head, and maggots had started to eat his ruined flesh. The vets determined his injuries could not be helped and he was euthanized. I know it is to late for poor Vucko but we could help the other animals suffering out there, so please copy and paste the letter i have enclosed and send it to the e-mail address i have added underneath the letter, i do have images of Vucko if anyone would like to see them, i did not add them as they are very distressing but i will gladly send then to you if you ask, once again thank you very much for taking the time to read this, Yvonne.

Av-Mau named the dog, ‘Vučko’. Vučko means little wolf. In Native American medicine, the wolves are our teachers.

Dear Sir,
We the undersigned of "Justice For Vucko Petition" request that the Bosnian and Herzegovinan goverment and Sarajevo authorities investigate the matter of the dog named Vucko, whom was brutally attacked and maimed.

News reports indicate youths taped fireworks within the dog's mouth and ignited them. The impact of the explosion resulted in extensive mutilation to the dog's jaw, nose and muzzle region. The extent of the dog's injuries resulted in it being euthanized.

Therefore, we request that the perpetrators of this crime be brought to justice under the Bosnia and Herzegovina Animal Welfare Protection Act 2009 pursuant to Article 3- " Prohibition of killing and torture." In which it is prohited to inflict pain, suffering, harm, or torture to an animal.

This incident has sparked a global outcry we look to the Bosnian and Herzegovinan justice system and authorities to apply the law consistently.

Thank-you for taking the time to read this letter.

Sincerely,
