Lower the Percentage of Abused Animals in Alleghany County, NC

This petition had 1,037 supporters

The small county of Alleghany, NC is a county full of animal lovers. This being said, it is unfathomable why we do not have a closer eye on animal protection and watch for animal abuse. It has come to our attention that even though we do have animal control, their only goal is to bring in wild or stray animals. This means that we do not have a very close eye on animal abuse itself. Our goal is to broaden our Animal Control’s job description so they can take on abuse cases along with getting the wild and stray animals.

One example of the unacceptable abuse found was at our very own local vets office; where someone tied a pitbull to a car and dragged it along with physical abuse, creating serious injury. We think it is time that Alleghany gets the upper hand on animal cruelty. If the current Animal Control cannot take on the extra time to stop this kind of abuse, the county can set up a website or hotline to alert the Animal Control about animal abuse and when and where the abuse is taking place. Another solution would be for a deputy to take on this job. Deputes patrol around the county anyway so while they did this they could look for abuse cases.

Please sign this petition and help us get awareness for Alleghany County, NC Animal Control and get help to the abused animals that deserve it!!
