Fishery Watch would like to petition for a new law to be  brought in to protect the fish stocks on UK Rivers/Canals & Streams.

We would like to see it made law that it is illegal to remove fish from any UK River/Canal or Stream, with the exception of evasive species & game fish were permitted.

We would like predator anglers to be able to catch fish for bait, but they MUST be used in the water they were caught in.

Fishery Watch believes that this would also assist in cases of Fish Theft, because it would be illegal to remove the fish permanently from the water for the purpose of taking it elsewhere, therefore creating an act of theft if caught with fish being taken from a water.

This law would also close the loophole that is used by a lot of fish thieves that the current river allowance allows them to take.

Fish stock in UK Rivers/Canals & Streams are under tremendous pressure at the moment from predation and also fish theft has risen steeply, we need legistlation to protect our UK fish stocks NOW, before it is too late.
