I’ve had another response from the Council, and it’s a masterclass in dodging responsibility. They are now claiming they "cannot" stop the fish removal because the Club is leading it.
We aren't falling for it.
The Council owns the land. They set the rules. They are the ones forcing these "hook bait only" restrictions that will make the Mere uneconomical for anglers, effectively killing the club through the back door.
The Risks are Real:
• Fish Deaths: Mass netting isn't "safe"—it’s a death sentence for many of the older, specimen fish.
• Disease: Moving these fish risks spreading deadly diseases to other local waters.
• The Bill: Once the anglers are gone, YOU, the taxpayer, will pay for the stinking, algae-ridden pond that’s left behind.
They want us to fight the Club. We won't. We are staying focused on the Landowner who has the power to stop this.
PLEASE SIGN & SHARE. We have less than 3 weeks until the April 1st deadline. Let’s keep the pressure on!
