The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world, behind oil companies. With clothing being more affordable and accessible a culture of disposable fashion has formed. This desire to buy clothes for the purpose of only wearing them once has had a horrific impact on Australia’s current landfill epidemic. Just like plastic, fabrics like polyester, nylon and spandex are made from petrochemicals and take thousands of years to break down. Help put an end to fast fashion before landfill sites overflow and we run out of space.

How to support sustainable fashion?

• Reduce landfill by donating your clothing instead of throwing them away
• Choose natural fabrics (cotton and wool) over synthetic (polyester, nylon and spandex)
• Treat garments like an investment piece- don't buy clothes just to wear them once.
