Angela James Arena Extension

The Issue

Flemingdon Park has limited community space despite being home to many residents, with many more children, youth and seniors compared to Toronto. Angela James Arena (AJA) is only open for ice hockey season despite City commitment to recreation program access, especially for young people and seniors. Councillor Burnside has remarked that AJA is small and in need of renovations. AJA is important to the community because it is well used and named after a local Hockey Hall of Fame legend. Friends of Flemingdon Park, a resident-led group, has been actively engaging residents and advocating to improve AJA as well as open it all year. The vision for an extension includes more space and an indoor gymnasium. This would meet the community's need for space to offer more programs and sports to youth. By signing this, you are asking the City to recognize AJA is important and listen to resident proposals.
