Android development team at Google: Bring back application shortcuts (especially the email one) to the Android OS: Jelly Bean 4.3

Even devices as old and simple as the BlackBerry had the ability to create shortcuts to separate mailboxes and put them on the home screen. Any type of email address, all configured in the one default email app with separate shortcuts for each. I have read that older versions of the Android OS had this feature and it was called an "application shortcut". The Galaxy Note 3 is the most sophisticated mobile device I have ever encountered and it's severely deflated by this one missing feature. Had I known it could not do this, I would not have upgraded to this phone.

Google, please release an update to bring this back. The heavy lifters absolutely need this!
