Protest at AGLs AGM 28th September 9.30am

Australian Mothers-Against-GasCamden, Australia
Sep 18, 2016
Join AGL customers, shareholders and community members to expose the company's greenwash and demand AGL come up with a plan to exit the dirty energy business. WHAT: Community calls on Australia's Biggest Polluter to go fossil free! A fun, family friendly action outside AGL's AGM in Sydney. WHEN: Wednesday 28th September, 9.30am WHERE: Sydney Recital Hall, 2 Angel Place, SYDNEY Co-hosted by Stop CSG Sydney and 350 Australia and supported by GetUp! RSVP HERE: https://www.facebook.com/events/864652537001785/permalink/885119441621761/ It will be attended by shareholders, its CEO and its board, and gives us an opportunity to express our opposition to fossil fuels and AGL as one of the dirtiest dozen. Residents living next to AGL’s coal seam gas fields in Camden, in south west Sydney, want AGL to leave now — not in 2023. They want an end to bad nose bleeds, headaches, and breathing problems caused by the toxic wells. AGL is the country's biggest generator of coal-fired electricity. It operates some of Australia's most polluting coal-fired power plants, including Bayswater in the Hunter region. There is no excuse for AGL’s continued coal seam gas fracking and coal-fired pollution. Join with others concerned about climate justice outside AGL’s AGM in Sydney as shareholders enter the building. Bring your banners, your signs, and your voices. RSVP HERE: https://www.facebook.com/events/864652537001785/permalink/885119441621761/ SPEAKERS: Raymond 'Bubbly' Weatherall — Gamilaraay man, Gomeroi Native Title applicant Julie Lyford — Groundswell Gloucester Peter Kennedy — former coal miner Dr Helen Redmond — Doctors for the Environment Melinda Wilson — Australian Mothers Against Gas Ecopella, an environmental choir, will be performing
