HI I supported an elderly lady with her application for personal independent plan known as P.I. P. I'm Not asking for support for her to be awarded this benefit. Even though I believe she is more than entitled to this benefit. My concern is the underhand and incomplete benefit decision letter. The decision letter give poor explanation as to why someone is not eligible for benefit. However it does not state in the decision letter that as an applicant you have the right to appeal the decision. So many genuine people eligible to benefit are denied to challenge the unjust refusal to much needed benefit. Vulnerable and elderly people denied basic benefits is so unjust. The award refusal letter needs to have in it , that you can appeal the decision and how. Otherwise many people struggling financially will feel that the decision is final and struggle in silence.
