During this horrible time of 2020 COVID PANDEMIC. We the homeowners of Wharfside Condominium have been the victims of fraud and negligence. Many of the homeowners have been threatened to pay Assessments that have not been voted on by the homeowners association according to the bylaws. Homeowners have been extorted money by way of fines. Been threatened by Board members’ lawyers to pay money that they do not have. These homeowners are elderly, retired veterans and disable persons who are on a fixed income. Many are being forced out of their homes, especially during these trying times of COVID-19, some have even lost their loved ones. These homeowners have been threatened by means of racial remarks, vandalism and death threats, as well as to our security guard. The Board Members has taken away our constitutional right to Freedom to Assemble safely according to CDC and New York State guidelines. There were flyers posted that a person will be fined $1000.00 by New York State if we attempt to have a safe distance Community meeting. This is just one of several ways we are being lied & deceived to. Homeowners has been made to pay assessments without approval and threatening to have their homes foreclosed or a lien. This community is becoming an hostile living environment to the point that even our superintendent is disrespecting the homeowners with no repercussions. Several of the homeowners have filed police reports with the Freeport Police Department. FEMA has giving over 4.2 million dollars to TCM for Wharfside Condominium renovation because of the Superstorm Hurricane Sandy and it was handled with negligence. There have been text messages and emails from other Board members who are scared to speak out against the wrongful corruption and mismanagement that's going on. Our Board members consist of people that has felony charges, has been disbarred from law and/or who are being sued by other companies which is all on public record. Half of the board members has had financial trouble, but since being on the board from 2016 to present, there homes has been paid off as well as other homes purchased. Which, during this period, their homes was anywhere between $60k-200k. Yet, There has not been a detail itemized report outlining the cost & recovery of our building. There has only been summary reports that don't add up with the contracting reports furnished. There has not been a board of elections for 2 years, even now by via by mail in ballot. We the homeowners are asking for everyone to stand with us to make the necessary changes on how our Condominium are being governed. I was told by several lawyers, If you believe your board members are stealing from you then 9 out of 10 times, they are. We need to act now and change the narrative. By signing this petition your not only helping Wharfside Condominium to have an investigation done & to prosecute if need to, but you'll also be helping millions of other condo homeowners to stand up and not be taking advantage of.
We need the Governor, Senate, Congress, the Attorney General & Supreme Court to hear us and make change and to investigate these matters. Help us save our homes, help us take down the corruption that leave so many of us in poverty. We're not asking for money. We are asking you to sign for justice.
