We want the Statue of Liberty restored to her original color. Restoring her to her original color would not only restore her beauty, and allow her to live her best life, but it is also important to show that our nation maintains our structures, as well as gifts from other countries. The statue is an iconic landmark in our country and yes, she may be known as being green, but that’s because she wasn’t well cared for. Lady Liberty was a gift from France, commemorating the alliance of the United States and France during the American Revolution. She commemorates the perseverance of freedom and democracy in the United States. Allowing the statue to change color in the first place was a huge mistake. Though returning her to the original color may be a bit shocking for some, it would show that our country truly does care about maintaining balance as well as our relationships with other countries.
