In the late 1990's Trump bought 494 acres of land in Mahopac, NY for $2.75M, with the intention of developing it into golf courses. When that proved to be environmentally impossible, he built a huge family vacation compound, the upkeep of which he deducts as a Business Expense, according to the NY Times. You can see the estate on a map satellite view, just to the west of Indian Hill Rd.

In 2006, Trump donated 436 acres to New York State (NYS) to create a park, named after him, just east of the Taconic Parkway, creating a buffer for the family estate.  In his required 2016 Presidential Campaign filing, Trump reported he took a $26.1M Taxable Charitable Deduction for the land donation.
