Free Bay Lloyd
The Issue
Lloyd McKenzie, better known to some as Bay Lloyd now 42, was charged of Murder in the Second Degree, Operating as a Major Trafficker, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy and Criminal Possession of a Weapon and in 2017 he was convicted of these charges - CONVICTED OF CRIMES HE DID NOT COMMIT. Lloyd McKenzie was convicted for the murder of Brandon Woodard which took place in December 2012. While the actual murderer walks free. On July 28, 2017, MCKENZIE was CONVICTED by a New York State Supreme Court jury of Murder in the Second Degree for his ALLEGED role in orchestrating the fatal daytime shooting on the sidewalk of West 58th Street, and acting as the getaway driver. A vehicle Mr. McKenzie hadn't occupied for over 96 hours before it was used in this gruesome ordeal. NO WEAPON WAS FOUND. Lloyd McKenzie was CONVICTED for Operating as a Major Drug Trafficker from ALLEGED informant testimony. NO DRUGS WERE EVER FOUND. NO FORENSIC SCIENCE WAS DONE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO DRUGS. Lloyd McKenzie was CONVICTED of Conspiracy.... By legal definition Conspiracy is a secret plan by a group of 2 or more people to do something unlawful or harmful. THERE WAS NO PLAN, NO KNOWLEDGE, NO EXECUTION OF A PLAN ON THE BEHALF OF LLOYD MCKENZIE. There was NEVER a conspiracy proven. Mr. McKenzie was never proven to be at the location where Mr. Woodard unfortunately lost his life in December of 2012.
This was a quote given to a local NY news blog “These perpetrators were on the run for several years, until justice – and excellent investigative work – caught up with them. Today, Lloyd McKenzie was sentenced to a lengthy prison term for his role in the murder and the cocaine trafficking ring, along with three co-conspirators who were also sentenced for their involvement in the drug operation. This brazen killing left two young children without a father and a loving mother without her son. I hope this conclusion will bring a measure of comfort to his family and loved ones.”
Even in this statement there are no FACTS!!!! Just opinions.
The Incarceration rate in the United States is at an all time high. Over 3.2 million people are incarcerated on American soil. The problem in all of this is many of the 3.2 million people that are being punished and have been convicted of crimes are serving time for crimes that they did not commit. This is a serious miscarriage of justice. Children are torn away from there parents for years may it be 1 year or 30 or life, it is too long. 1 minute away is too long. The seven most common causes of wrongful convictions are; Eyewitness Misidentification, False Confessions, Unvalidated Forensic Evidence, Police and Prosecutorial Misconduct, Poor Lawyering, Jailhouse Informant Testimony and Systemic Racism and Implicit Bias. New York is said to have the highest rate of wrongful convictions per www.innocenceproject.org Various studies estimate that in the United States, between 2.3 and 5% of all prisoners are innocent. A conviction may be classified as wrongful for two reasons; The person convicted is factually innocent of the charge or there were procedural errors that violated the convicted person’s rights.
IT'S TIME TO SAY SOMETHING, DO SOMETHING. WE CANNOT KEEP ALLOWING THIS MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE TO HAPPEN. More then half of wrongful convictions are traced back to “witnesses” whom lied in court or made false accusations. It’s time to be the ears, eyes and voice to the voiceless. Learn about wrongful convictions, research stories of wrongful convictions, advocate for legislative reforms nationwide, share innocence organizations content on social media, fundraise for innocence organizations, participate in wrongful convictions day which is October 2nd. Some People wrongfully convicted have to choose between freedom or restitution. Some will be later found innocent and have to sign waivers that they will keep quiet to be released. WHY???? The media makes a circus of the arrest why not make a circus of the exoneration?
LLoyd McKenzie is presently service time on a 85 years sentence for a crime he DID NOT COMMIT NOR HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF.
Write Lloyd and let him know you support him and have signed his petition to have his case reopened.
