Grant Clemency and Investigate the Wrongful Conviction Claims of Sharod Baker

To: Governor of New York, the New York State Courts, and the Kings County Conviction Review Unit

We are calling for clemency for Sharod Baker and a full investigation into his claims of wrongful conviction.

Sharod Baker has maintained that he was wrongfully convicted, and his case raises serious concerns that deserve an independent review, including issues involving witness credibility, possible misconduct, ineffective assistance of counsel, suppressed or overlooked evidence, and due process violations.

But this petition is also about the man Sharod Baker has become.

Despite hardship, Sharod has committed himself to growth, service, and helping others. He earned an associate degree in Human Services and Ministry, became an ordained minister, authored the self-help book The Tree from Which, and founded The Tree from Which LLC, a consulting and training company focused on self-empowerment, community betterment, workforce development, and personal transformation.

Sharod also created the clothing line C Honor Paris, a purpose-driven brand rooted in family, healing, legacy, and empowerment. The brand honors his granddaughter Paris, whose passing by suicide deeply impacted his family and strengthened his commitment to awareness, compassion, and emotional healing. It also reflects the spirit of his granddaughter Cherish, who advocates self-awareness and empowerment, and his grandson Honor, who represents personal growth and development.

Through C Honor Paris, Sharod turned grief into purpose. The brand is more than clothing — it is a message of survival, dignity, identity, and hope.

We believe justice requires more than finality. Justice requires truth, mercy, and the courage to correct injustice.

Governor Kathy Hochul to grant clemency to Sharod Baker.
The New York courts to fairly review his wrongful conviction claims.
The Kings County Conviction Review Unit to reopen and fully investigate his case.
All evidence, affidavits, witness issues, and claims of misconduct to be reviewed independently and transparently.
Sharod Baker deserves clemency, review, and a meaningful opportunity for freedom.
