Let us finally call attention to the suffering and losses of the Native American people by the hands of the European colonists who brought disease, warfare, massacre, and forced assimilation upon the indigenous people. 

In this time of compassionate great awakening let us right the wrongs and join these thirteen states:

Vermont
Maine
New Mexico
Alaska
South Dakota 
Hawaii
Oregan
Lousiana
Michigan
Wisconsin
North Carolina 
Idaho

...by symbolically renaming Columbus Day as "Indigenous Peoples' Day" so that we can move forward to healing the American culture as a unified community.
